Victrex is committed to creating and delivering sustainable benefits and solutions to our customers and our markets, alongside maximising our resource efficiency across our global footprint and being a responsible business.

Our strategy seeks to build on the competitive advantage we already offer to our customers and our markets. Our focus is on three key areas.

Our sustainable solutions area focuses on products and services which help shape future performance for our customers and markets, by providing sustainable environmental and social benefits.

Develop and deliver sustainable polymer solutions that provide clear social and environmental benefits to society

  • Save more CO2 than we produce (carbon neutral)
  • 5 million-tonne reduction of CO2 in Aerospace and Automotive
  • Target 12 million patients with PEEK-OPTIMA™ implanted globally (target enhanced from current 9 million+)

Resource efficiency

While our sustainability credentials are strong, through lighter materials which can support CO2 savings, we have an impact on the environment through the resources that we use to make our products and the processes that we operate.
Maximize resource efficiency across the value chain

  • 50% reduction in waste

Social responsibility

Safety, Health and Environment

Integral to Sustainable Business Performance

Excellent Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) performance is essential to sustainable business performance. At Victrex, the highest priority is placed on SHE by management and employees alike. Management of SHE is vital to the business throughout the entire supply chain—from raw material procurement to delivery of the final product.

Victrex takes full advantage of a comprehensive environmental management system.  At its UK manufacturing site, the system is certified to ISO14001:2015 for the manufacture of VICTREX™ PAEK (excluding Invibio polymer component production for medical purposes).

Raising Occupational Health and Safety Standards

In recognition of more than 19 years of continuous achievements in occupational health and safety, Victrex has again been awarded the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Order of Distinction Award 2016.  The award recognizes the persistent efforts of all employees, robust SHE management systems and the strong company risk management culture.
