Thornton Cleveleys, UK – When faced with life’s many challenges, we often find people going the extra mile to help those in need. In fact, some have gone further and higher. A group of Victrex employees took on the challenge to participate in a sponsored 10-mile hike that would have them ascending to the KinderScout plateau and up to reach Crowden Head, the highest point in the Peak District. A minor challenge in the grand scheme of the cause, the spirit of the team led to the walking of an additional two miles and continues to drive the efforts behind raising funds for The Christie, a Manchester-based charity that supports those affected by cancer.
With employees gathered from all over the world, the Victrex team made it a priority to put business aside to support an organization that fights against an ailment that has affected so many of our loved ones. The donations that are raised by the team directly help in the funding of additional services and vital research that are crucial for patient treatment and finding a cure. Victrex set a goal to raise £1,500 with the hopes to support this wonderful organization as best it could. The teamwork and camaraderie displayed by the group, the Victrex community, their families, and friends helped shatter that goal and continue in the raising of nearly £3,400 to date.
While the battle is still an ongoing one, organizations such as The Christie and Victrex understand the importance of backing the efforts in the fight against cancer. If you would like to be a part of this honorable cause, please visit The Christie’s website to make a donation: http://www.justgiving.com/christies.
