Victrex`s new VICOTE® Coatings 700 and 800 Series are available globally, offering processing flexibility in both powder and dispersion format. 

VICOTE 700 Series is a range of powders for electrostatic coating depending on the coating thickness required. VICOTE Coatings 800 SERIES are new dispersions where thinner coatings are required or where difficult geometries must be coated and which have been formulated to enhance the properties of the pure VICOTE® products. A pure VICTREX® PEEK™-based dispersion (VICOTE 804) is also currently available.

Powder CoatingFor powder coating, it is important for the part or substrate be properly prepared prior to using VICOTE Coating. Removal of any current/old coatings must be removed or burned-off, and cleaned thoroughly. A key advantage to using VICOTE is that no primer is typically needed before coating, and that compared with Fluoropolymers, circa 60% extra coverage can be obtained for the same coating thickness when using VICOTE products.

Dispersion CoatingIf you are using a VICOTE Coating dispersion (800 series), once it arrives, a simple mixing procedure can be followed. Some viscosity adjustment may be necessary prior to spray coating, along with part preparation such as removal of oil/greases and cleaning. VICOTE Coating can be applied with standard air spray equipment using one or more coats at certain thicknesses.
