VICTREX PEEK COMPOSITES
In addition to standard
VICTREX PEEK grades for injection molding or extrusion, VICTREX PEEK can be used as a matrix for thermoplastic composite
prepregs made of carbon, glass or aramid continuous fibers. Its outstanding properties make it an great substitute for metals
and thermoset applications.
VICTREX PEEK thermoplastic composites made of
carbon, glass or aramid continuous fibers are available in various forms engineered to provide optimum impregnation of the
reinforcing fibers and fiber matrix interface:
- Dry fabrics
- Multiaxial fabrics (NCF:
Non-Crimp Fiber)
- Braid
- Tow
- Unidirectional tape
- UD sheet
(achieved by tape laying automated process with a custom ply orientation)
- Consolidated fabric or UD sheets.
Different Processes
- Compression molding
- Roll forming
- Thermoforming, stamping
- Pultrusion
- Filament winding
- Autoclave, vacuum bag molding
- Diaphragm forming
- Bladder inflation molding
- Tape laying placement
