VICOTE® Coating - VICTREX® PEEK™ Coating Technology

High Temperature, High Performance Industrial Coatings for Strength and Durability

VICOTE® Coatings, powder coatings and liquid dispersions coatings, based on VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer offer exceptional scratch and wear resistance, high temperature performance, strength and durability. VICOTE High Performance Coatings provide excellent wear resistance, strength and durability for demanding applications that require exposure to extreme conditions such as high temperature, chemicals and abrasion. By using VICOTE Coatings in the coated parts of their industrial coating applications, customers can extend application life, improve product performance and functionality, reduce systems cost and facilitate design freedom to achieve product differentiation. Eco-friendly VICOTE High Performance Coatings were developed to fill the performance gap found in many existing coating technologies today.

High Performance VICOTE Coatings Benefits

VICOTE Coatings provide numerous benefits when used in industrial coating of applications including:

  • Improve wear and abrasion performance
  • Extend application life
  • Improve product performance and functionality
  • Reduce systems cost
  • Facilitate design freedom
  • Achieve product differentiation

VICOTE High Performance Coatings Reduce Costs

VICOTE Coatings have excellent substrate adhesion, eliminating the need for a primer during the coating process. VICOTE Industrial Coatings one coat systems simplifies the coating processes. With proper substrate pretreatment powder coatings and liquid dispersion coatings can be applied without primers. The primer-free process, plus the ability to achieve very thin coatings, contributes to overall reduced system costs. VICOTE high performance coatings can replace metal plating in application components. The use of VICOTE PEEK Coatings has been proven to extend application life by 50% to 200% when compared to fluoropolymer coatings.

Industrial Coatings - VICOTE Coatings for OEMs, Design Engineers, Coaters, Processors and Applications

VICOTE Coatings are the right choice for OEMs, design engineers, coaters and processors looking to improve wear performance and the lifespan of the coated parts in their application.

The high performance coating properties of VICOTE Coatings provide many benefits to applications in Industrial, Automotive, Food Processing, Semiconductor, Electronics, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer markets to learn more, visit Victrex PEEK products Applications.

The main ingredient of VICOTE High Performance Coatings is VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer, a linear, aromatic, semi-crystalline thermoplastic, widely regarded as one of the highest performing thermoplastic materials in the world. It offers a unique combination of properties to help processors and end-users reach new levels of cost savings, high performance, and product differentiation.

VICOTE High Performance Coatings in Application Design

VICOTE Coatings can be used as a stand-alone material or as complimentary to other coatings such as fluoropolymers. Whether applied to industrial, automotive, food processing, semiconductor, electronics or pharmaceutical parts, VICOTE High Performance Coatings are a great choice for engineers looking to improve the wear performance and life of the coated part in their applications.

VICOTE Coatings have been successfully utilized in several applications; see how VICOTE High Performance Coatings have enhanced current VICOTE applications.

Victrex VICOTE Coatings Global Application Development Services

To support OEMs and coaters with the development and commercialization of VICOTE Coatings in their application design, Victrex has two application support service facilities; The Asia Innovation and Technology Centre (AITC), located in the Xinzhuang Industry Park in Shanghai, China and the VICOTE Coatings Application Development Center (VADC), located at Victrex headquarters in Thornton Cleveleys, Lanchashire, United Kingdom. Both centers provide customers with expertise and support in materials specification, training, prototyping, testing, and research.

VICOTE Coatings, Powder Coatings and Liquid Dispersion Coating

VICOTE Coatings, powder and liquid dispersions, based on VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer offer exceptional scratch and wear resistance, high temperature performance, strength and durability.

VICOTE High Performance Coating Grades

VICOTE Coatings are available as the 700 Series powder coating and 800 Series liquid dispersions coating. Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) and F-Grades of the 800 Series liquid dispersions are available to give coaters more control over substrate activity and coating results.

VICOTE ESD Grades

ESD grades are designed to help control the rate of electrostatic charge build-up, which is of particular importance in hazardous-area industrial which is of particular importance in hazardous-area industrial coating applications, as well as the manufacture of sensitive electrical and semiconductor equipment.

VICOTE F-Grades

F-grades of VICOTE Coatings are specially formulated by Victrex to help solve the problem of flash rusting that can occur when water-based coatings are applied to ferrous metals such as mild steel. They can also be used to coat non-ferrous substrates equally effectively, thus creating an exceptional solution for metal plating industrial coating applications.

VICOTE 700 Series – Powder Coating Grade

VICOTE 700 Series powder coating grades can be used for electrostatic coating and thermal spraying. The grade required will depend on the coating thickness required, the geometry of the part and the temperature requirements.

VICOTE 800 Series – Liquid Dispersion Grade

VICOTE 800 Series liquid dispersions are available where thinner coatings are required, where difficult geometries must be coated, and in instances where enhanced properties such as release are required.
